I hope everyone had a nice Father’s Day… including my father who is FAR away in GA!
Our Day began with Brian getting to finally go on a bike ride! YEAH.. Then I helped him with the yard work (yep me). Next it was off to the movies were we enjoyed Star Trek… man did that bring back memories.. I love the “I’m givin’er all she’s got Captain” and of course… “Dam it Jim I’m a doctor….” LMAO… there are many more but you already know them if you are a fan! Then off to dinner at Tap House in Norfolk… that was a little sad… they have cut their menu in HALF …. Beer wise and food wise some of my most favorite food items were GONE.. the mussels, the crab cake… I was shattered… at least they still had Avantinis … and the crab dip so not all was lost. Then we picked up Devon and headed for ice cream… then a few rounds of Ping Pong… what a Sunday…
Also it was Litha I hope everyone enjoyed the longest day of the year now they begin to get shorter each day…until Yule… So to still Trekie words vs. Pagan words… “Live Long and prosper”

It’s a time of celebrating the sun, and spending as much time as you can outdoors. Try to set up your Midsummer altar outside if at all possible. Try to use the colors of the season such as yellows, oranges, fiery reds and golds. Use candles in bright sunny colors, or cover your altar with cloths that represent the solar aspect of the season.
The solstice is also a time seen as a battle between light and dark. Although the sun is strong now, in just six months the days will be short again. Much like the battle between the Oak and Holly Kings, light and dark must battle for supremacy. At this sabbat, light wins. Decorate your altar with symbols of the triumph of light over darkness. The Holly King is getting ready for his reign until Yule.
Some Symbols of Litha
- Midsummer fruits and vegetables from your garden
- Sunflowers, roses
- Oak trees and acorns
- Sandalwood, saffron, frankincense, laurel
- Brighid’s Cross…
A Brighid’s Cross can be purchased in many Irish craft shopes or at festivals, but it’s actually pretty easy to make your own.
I hope that everyone finds the time to spend the longest day of the year with friends/family and enjoy the outdoors!
Â
Blessed Be!!

So I am trying to get more into the cycling thing recently - with the help of Chrissy, and of course Brian….Â
A few weeks ago the three of us did a memorial ride for a cyclist killed while riding his bike on a normal road! Â Brian introduced us to a group called the Vanderkittens (http://vanderkitten-virginiabeach.blogspot.com/) a group of very nice ladies that train, ride, and play together. Â They invited us to join but Chrissy and I are so new to cycling we are not sure if we would be an asset or a hinderance to the team. Â UGH! So I guess we will train this year and look into racing next year!!

Well on the advice of several people I just kept trying the ESN on the blackberry I purchased via Craig’s list and well her contract must have finally ended or she finally did the right thing and cleared the ESN. Â So my paperweight now works YEAH and I am loving the blackberry. Â So Karma is all good again!

This person, supposedly Yolanda Morris, listed a phone on Craigslist. She claimed the phone was clear and ready to activate. $200 later we found it out she still owes money to Sprint. Sprint will NOT clear an ESN unless the previous owner has either added a new phone to the account or paid their account balance in full. After contacting Yolanda about the problem she agreed to give our money and set up a meeting last night at 9:00. At 9:30 when she still had not shown up and she wasn’t responding to emails on her T-Mobile Blackberry we finally decided to call it quits.Â
So…. moral of the story be careful when buying phone and don’t buy anything from Yolanda Morris. Her email address is may23454@yahoo.com. The original listing is here:Â http://norfolk.craigslist.org/ele/1105965821.html

So we had a great time visiting Dog Fish Head on Sunday. The trip up was beautiful traffic was GREAT! Our stop at Teller Wines was fun as well (6 bottles of wine later) I would go broke if they were closer. (Still love Grape and Gourmet) The food at Dog Fish was wonderful (service a little slow but the place was packed) the beer, well the men enjoyed it! I found a new favorite Cosmo… Blood Orange - yum!!!
Walked around the beach such a pretty day! I got some cool stickers for the car! The sunset on the way home over the water was beautiful!!! What a great way to spend Ostara with Good friends, adult conversations, good food, great drinks!! I hope this is a start to a great spring!!!
